Healthy Development Through Movement
Why is Tummy Time So Important?
Tummy time is about so much more than helping your baby learn to roll and crawl. It provides the foundation for healthy movement, posture, strength, and even feeding.
During tummy time, babies develop the neck, shoulder, jaw, and core muscles that support many everyday activities. Strong, coordinated muscles can help babies achieve a more stable feeding position, improve head and body control, and support the oral movements needed for efficient breastfeeding and bottle feeding. Tummy time also helps prevent prolonged pressure on the back of the head and encourages balanced movement as your baby grows.
We combine tummy time education to parents with an understanding of infant feeding and development. During your private session, you’ll learn age-appropriate techniques to make tummy time enjoyable, build your baby’s confidence, and easily incorporate it into your daily routine—so you can feel confident supporting your baby’s development from the very beginning.

As your baby grows and reaches new developmental stages, tummy time naturally changes. Many families choose to schedule another session to learn new techniques, progress to more advanced activities, and receive guidance tailored to their baby’s current stage of development.
Our goal is to give you the knowledge, confidence, and resources you need to make tummy time a positive and enjoyable part of your baby’s everyday routine long after our session together.
Recommended Coaching Schedule
Your baby’s movement skills change rapidly during the first six months of life. As they grow, tummy time evolves too!
For the best support, we recommend scheduling tummy time instruction at key developmental stages so you can learn new techniques that match your baby’s changing abilities and milestones.
Newborn Session (Birth–6 Weeks) - Build a Strong Foundation
This introductory session focuses on safely introducing tummy time, learning comfortable positions, understanding your baby’s cues, and building confidence from the very beginning.
2–3 Month Progress Session - Strengthen & Progress
As your baby develops better head control and becomes more alert, we’ll introduce new tummy time activities, positioning techniques, and play ideas to encourage strength, endurance, and confidence.
4–5 Month Milestone Session - Supporting Rolling & Early Mobility
At this stage, your baby is becoming stronger and more active. We’ll teach age-appropriate tummy time activities that encourage reaching, pivoting, rolling, weight shifting, and continued core development.
6-Month & Beyond Session - Growing Through Movement
As your baby prepares for sitting, crawling, and exploring their world, we’ll build on previous skills with fun movement activities that continue to support strength, coordination, and healthy motor development.
Growing With Your Baby
Just as your baby outgrows clothing and reaches new milestones, their tummy time routine should grow too. Many families enjoy returning every 6–8 weeks during the first six months to learn new activities, receive personalized guidance, and ensure tummy time continues to be a positive and rewarding experience as their baby develops.
